Spending the day outside can be so rejuvenating. Some people don't understand how important going outside is. Nature has been shown to reduce stress levels, improve mood, and boost overall happiness. Let's dive into my experience while I was outside.

I have been going through a very hard time recently. I am currently a journalism major, and I love to write little stories about strangers passing by. When it is a nice day out, I like to bring a notebook with me and sit outside my dorm and on a bench. But this day, I went to a lake called surrey lake. It was beautiful. There was a small little waterfall that I set a blanket up next to and just listened to the water hit the rocks. I started off by coming up with some story concepts I like. Then, I look around for someone that catches my eye. My favorite little, short story I wrote was called The View from halfway down. It was about a love triangle but from the guy's perspective. How the guy felt when he saw who he thought was his love, pretended like he was nothing. That story I will definitely do more with. My mindset while going to this lake was not all that great. So many things were happening within that week. I couldn't take being around people or electronics. As I sat next to this waterfall, I took my pencil and just started to write. The title, "The Note". I took everything I wanted to do and say and put it into a story. I had no idea I would write the most gut-wrenching story. After I got three pages down, I started to pack up and walk to the lake. where i just sat for a bit with my thoughts. They were getting to me. Without thinking, I ran to the water. It was freezing cold, but man did I feel so much better. Like all my fears and problems got washed away

The small waterfall where I wrote my best story yet.
