Human impacts of the world
Environmental and health impacts
I read a very informative article called Pollution (nationalgeographic.org)
while reading this article I have learned so much about health impacts and how the environment is changing. I have never been someone who really cared about what I put in the trash and recycling bin. As I am getting older, I can see how much the world is changing and how people's health is getting worse due to the environment. I have always wondered, why is it important to recycle. What does it do? let's start with why we should recycle. Recycling helps keep the environment clean and healthy, and it also reduces the amount of waste that is produced throughout the environment. I get it, recycling can be tricky with all the different kinds of materials, so let's try and simplify it. A lot of trash cans today have labels or colors on them that indicate what materials go in that bin. The materials also have numbers on them that tell you how they can be recycled. Believe it or not, but if you do not recycle it can cause water pollution and global warming which typically leads to climate change. The lack of recycling can also affect food chains because of the loss of their habitats. It is also important to know that we make new things out of recycled items. Now, what are the benefits of recycling? There are many benefits when it comes to recycling. Recycling has so many environmental benefits such as reducing the waste that gets into landfills. That helps cut down on very harmful greenhouse gases. It also helps the spread of pollution.
time for the comparison.
Let's talk about air pollution and how recycling can help control it. How does recycling help with air pollution? The big main factor is that it annihilates climate change. The more you recycle the less in landfills. Exposure to air pollution can cause a wide range of health problems, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurological effects. It can also harm the environment by causing acid rain and climate change. When waste is sent to landfills, it decomposes and produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. Landfills also release other pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide, which contribute to smog and acid rain. That is no fun. By recycling, we reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfills and incinerators, thereby reducing the number of greenhouse gases and other pollutants that are released into the air. In addition, recycling helps to conserve natural resources, reduces energy consumption, and creates jobs. Overall, recycling can be an effective tool in reducing air pollution and its impacts on human health and the environment. However, recycling plastic, can often make things much worse.
How Does Recycling Influence Air Pollution? | Sciencing
Role of a typical person at Keene state college using these sources.
The students in Keene state have access to a wide variety of recycling bins everywhere. I try my best to put the right materials in the bins, but I do find myself slacking. There are most definitely students who follow the rules of recycling, but others really don't care. In our student center, we have trash bins with lids that only fit what is supposed to go in them. We have one for paper, cans, plastic, and regular trash. In conclusion, A lot of students should be more educated when it comes to recycling.
